How does this site run best?

Browsers- Usgolfer.net has painstakingly tried to design and program its site to ensure that the vast majority of users can access and appreciate all the functions of the site. There are some features on the site that require special helper applications called plugins. The plugins that we used are documented in the location of their use and have instructions on how to get the feature in question to work properly. It is very probable that you will never need to have any such helper applications installed as they may already be in existence in your computer. Most 4.0 versions of Netscape and Internet Explorer come already equipped with the plugins that are in use on the this site. It is for this reason that we recommend you use 4.0 and above browsers to view this site.
If you need the latest version of Netscape you can download it for free by clicking HERE
If you need the latest version of Internet Explorer you can download it for free by clicking HERE

Connection Speed- As stated above, this site should run correctly on the vast majority of computer browser combinations in existence today, however the overall performance of the site will be effected by your connection speed. None of the features will fail to function due to connection speed but obviously, with the modern internet, the faster the better. We recommend at least a 28.8 modem connection speed and encourage you to seek faster connection speeds to enhance your overall experience. If you are at all confused about what the speed of you modem means in golf terms let us help to try and explain it. A 14.4 modem is the equivalent to wood shaft driver, a 28.8 modem is the equivalent of a steel shaft with a wooden head and a metal insert, a 56K modem is the equivalent of a steel shaft steel head driver, and anything faster than a 56K modem (Cable Modem, DSL, T1... etc.) is equivalent of a fiberglass shaft composite metals head with a headcover that reads something like "Big Dog".

Monitor Resolution- As stated above, this site should run correctly on the vast majority of computer browser combinations in existence today, however our design team has built this site to be viewed with at least 800by600 dpi screen resolution. Setting your monitor to this setting or above is recommended for optimal viewing of this as well as many other internet sites in existence.

Font Size- We recommend that you use the medium setting for fonts within your browsers. If you feel that the font is too small for you to read on screen try adjusting your monitor resolution to 800by600. If you still feel that you are not able to correctly read the information on screen we recommend visiting your local optometrist. If you e-mail usgolfer.net and include your location most likely in 6 to 8 business weeks or less we can get you the name of an optometrist in your area. If that still does not work, then go ahead and raise the font size on your browser to above medium.
