The Club Champ Classic Puttn Return with Realistic hazards
This putting machine features an 8 x 16" putting surface and has an electric ball return. It also has a regulation cup that is "protected" by a Sand Trap and Water Hazard. No batteries required, just a standard electrical outlet. Lets get to the evaluation
The Good
The Regulation size cup
High Quality, Turf simulates real grass
Electric Ball return
The hazards catch most off line shots.
Good simulation
Can be used at the home or the office
Can be modified by using books, magazines, etc. to add addition slope to putts thus increasing the challenge factor.
The Bad
Flimsy plastic construction
No protection for balls that miss the hazards and the hole.
Only 8 x 16" putting surface. Not very challenging
Balls have a tendency to get stuck in the hazards and not get returned.
Promotes laziness. If a ball gets stuck, most golfers will hit another ball at the stuck ball rather than actually walking 8 to get the ball. Much the same as how a lost remote can result in panic for most men.
The Hazards are neither realistic nor practical. How often, when golfing, do you miss a put by inches and wind up in the water?
The Gods Honest Truth
This is a product that has been around for years in one form or another, and while this product does have its own little twists to the traditional putting mat system, it by no means breaks the mold. The grass mat is a still a little small, but overall this product is still fairly good. At $40 MSRP the Club Champ, is moderately priced and reasonable for a complete putting system with electronic ball return. We recommend this product for most golfers who could justify spending $40 over the winter to reduce the number of strokes lost on 8-foot putts.
