Description
Hole 17, the shortest par 5 at Oak Lane measuring just 465 yards, is not as easy as the yardage indicates. This severe dogleg right presents some interesting challenges for those wanting to reach it in two. Trees line the fairway on the right hand side to discourage golfers from trying to cut the corner on the dogleg off the tee. It can be done but is very risky. A well placed drive about 200 yards out will lead to a fairly easy second shot. Hookers beware, (get your mind out of the gutter) the left side of this hole is out of bounds and is pretty close to the fairway. The green is blocked partially with a bunker on the left hand side which also adds to the difficulty in trying to reach this green in two. The green also has a few undulations that can make putting on this hole a little challenging . Overall this hole has definite birdie potential if you aren't afraid to take a few risks. |
